Waveguide WR284 / R32 / WG10

Ta strona dostępna jest również w polskiej wersji językowej

MARKOM Microwaves manufactures waveguides compliant with the WR284 / R32 / WG10 standard. Straight sections, bent sections, and custom waveguides are produced to order. The key parameters listed below depend on the material, waveguide filling (SF6 gas, vacuum), load conditions, and operating environment:

  • operating band: S (3 GHz)
  • frequency range: 2600 – 3950 MHz (2.6 – 3.95 GHz)
  • waveguide attenuation: 0.03 – 0.05 dB/m
  • flange attenuation: 0.005 – 0.1 dB
  • peak power handling: max 25 MW (uncoated internal surfaces)
  • average power handling: max 7 kW (uncoated internal surfaces)
  • operating pressure: SF6: max 4 bar
  • internal dimensions: 72.136 × 34.036 mm
  • wall thickness: 2.03 – 3.175 mm

WR284 is a waveguide designed for transmission of pulsed and continuous signals, primarily in radar systems, medical devices (LINAC), and scientific installations (accelerators).

WR284 Straight Waveguide

WR284 Straight Waveguide Straight sections are produced in lengths from 100 to 1000 mm. Length tolerance ±1 mm. On special order, a section can be manufactured up to 2000 mm or with a tolerance of ±0.1 mm. The waveguide tube is made of aluminium (AW-6061), brass (MO58), copper (Cu-ETP), or oxygen-free copper (OFC).

Waveguides are fitted with flanges to the following standards: CPRF32, CPRG32, MFM32, MFF32, LIL. Aluminium waveguides use aluminium flanges (AW-6082). Brass or Cu-ETP copper waveguides use brass flanges (MO58). OFC copper waveguides use stainless steel flanges (316L).

CPRG32 and MFM32 flanges use Viton or conductive elastomer gaskets. LIL flanges use copper gaskets. Gasket materials ensure thermal resistance across the full operating temperature range and the required hermetic seal.

The internal surfaces of aluminium waveguides can be left bare or passivated. The interior of brass or Cu-ETP copper waveguides can be left bare or silver-plated. OFC waveguide interiors are typically left bare. The external surface is either bare (mechanically cleaned) or powder-coated, regardless of material.

WR284 E-Bend and H-Bend Waveguide

Falowody katowe

When the microwave path requires a change of direction, E-plane or H-plane bent waveguides are used. An H-plane bend changes direction in the horizontal plane (left/right), while an E-plane bend changes direction in the vertical plane (up/down).

Standard bend angles are 30, 45, and 90 degrees. Custom angles from 0 to 90 degrees are available on special order. Bend angle tolerance ±1 degree.

The standard material is aluminium (AW-6061); other available materials are brass (MO58), copper (Cu-ETP), and oxygen-free copper (OFC). Aluminium waveguides use aluminium flanges (AW-6082), brass or Cu-ETP copper waveguides use brass flanges (MO58), and OFC copper waveguides use stainless steel flanges (316L).

Aluminium waveguide interiors can be left bare or chromate-passivated. Brass or Cu-ETP copper interiors are left bare or silver-plated. OFC waveguide interiors are typically left bare. External surfaces are bare (ground) or powder-coated, regardless of material.

WR284 Waveguide with Gas Port

A waveguide with a gas port allows connection to an SF₆ insulating gas system. A threaded fitting (e.g. G1/4 or other) is mounted on one wall. Apart from this single feature, the waveguide parameters are identical to a standard WR284. It is manufactured to application requirements: material, wall thickness, surface finish, and flanges.

Sections are produced in lengths from 100 to 1000 mm. Length tolerance ±1 mm. Tolerance of ±0.1 mm is available on special order.

The standard material is aluminium (AW-6061); brass (MO58), Cu-ETP copper, and OFC are available on request. Aluminium waveguides use aluminium flanges (AW-6082), brass or Cu-ETP copper waveguides use brass flanges (MO58), and OFC copper waveguides use stainless steel flanges (316L).
