Ta strona dostępna jest również w polskiej wersji językowej

MARKOM Microwaves is a manufacturer of waveguides compliant with the WR650 / WG6 / R14 standard. Basic parameters of WR650 waveguides:

  • operating band: L (per IEEE),
  • frequency range: 1120–1720 MHz (1.12–1.72 GHz),
  • waveguide attenuation: 0.005–0.03 dB/m (depending on material used),
  • flange attenuation: 0.02–0.1 dB per flange,
  • VSWR: max 1.05,
  • peak power handling: up to 58 MW (depending on material and operating parameters),
  • average power handling: up to 72 kW (depending on material and operating parameters),
  • insulating gas operating pressure: <1 bar,
  • internal dimensions: 165.10 × 82.55 mm,
  • waveguide material: aluminum, Cu-ETP copper, stainless steel,
  • wall thickness: ≥3 mm.

Section length, bend type, flange type, material used, and surface finish are selected individually, depending on the application and requirements. Peak and average power values given in the datasheets are indicative values for the given type of solution. Exact values are calculated individually for each waveguide unit supplied.

Typical applications of waveguides include air traffic control (ATC) radars, military early warning radars, powering accelerating structures in synchrotrons, long-range satellite communication systems, and industrial microwave dryers and ovens.

Examples of completed projects are available on the Projects page.

Straight WR650 Waveguide

Straight sections are manufactured in freely selectable lengths ranging from 50 to 600 mm. Typical dimensions are: 50, 75, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 400, 500, 600 mm. Other dimensions are made to individual order. Length tolerance ±1 mm. On special order, waveguides are manufactured with a tolerance of ±0.1 mm.

The waveguide material is aluminum (AW-6082), stainless steel (316L), or copper (CW004A).

To establish a common baseline for evaluating mechanical, electrical, and power-handling parameters, the internal and external surfaces are left raw/untreated.

The choice of surface finish depends solely on the user's needs, environmental conditions, and the applications in which the waveguides will operate. Internal surfaces can be passivated or silver-plated, while external surfaces can be powder-coated.

Flanges of the CPR650F, CPR650G, FDP14, FDM14 standards are mounted on the waveguides. The flanges are made of aluminum (AW-6082) or stainless steel (316L).

Flange gaskets are made of Viton. Additional gaskets made of conductive silicone are used on request.

Maximum peak and average power depend on the waveguide specification and operating environment. Information with parameter calculations is included with the waveguide.

WR650 Waveguide, E-Plane Bend

The E-plane bent waveguide is smoothly bent along a defined radius. The E-plane bend changes the direction of the run vertically (up/down).

Typical bend angles are: 30°, 45°, 60°, and 90°. Other bend angles are made to individual order. Bend angle accuracy is 1°.

Typical waveguide dimensions are given in the datasheets. Arm lengths are determined individually with a length tolerance of ±1 mm.

Waveguides are made of aluminum (AW-6082), Cu-ETP copper (CW004A), or stainless steel (316L).

Internal waveguide surfaces are left uncoated or finished according to user requirements. External surfaces are left raw or powder-coated.

Flanges of the CPR650F, CPR650G, FDP14, or FDM14 type are mounted on the waveguides. The flanges are made of aluminum (AW-6082) or stainless steel (316L).

The gasket material is Viton. Additional gaskets made of conductive silicone are used on request.

Maximum peak and average power depend on the waveguide specification and operating environment. Information with parameter calculations is included with the waveguide.
